2 “I have heard many such things; miserable comforters are you all.

How many times have Job’s friends not repeated the same lesson, that suffering is punishment for sin? Moreover, Eliphaz has pretended to offer Job God’s consolations. Job had already accused them of being worthless physicians (Job 13:4), but he now goes further. They are miserable comforters. They bring further misery instead of relief.
