What is the significance of David and Saul going to different places?
1 Samuel 26:25 (ESV)
25Then Saul said to David, “Blessed be you, my son David! You will do many things and will succeed in them.” So David went his way, and Saul returned to his place.
This would be the last meeting between Saul and David.1 David did not trust Saul to keep his word2 and so he did not return with him.3 He was wise in doing so, as later events would show Saul gave up his pursuit of David only after he heard that he went away to Gath (1 Samuel 27:4).4
25 Then Saul said to David, “Blessed be you, my son David! You will do many things and will succeed in them.” So David went his way, and Saul returned to his place.
