Joshua 9 and the Trinity

Joshua 9:1–27 (ESV)

1 As soon as all the kings who were beyond the Jordan in the hill country and in the lowland all along the coast of the Great Sea toward Lebanon, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, heard of this,

What does Joshua 9 reveal about who God the Father is?

The Lord is involved in history. The Gibeonites heard about what the Lord had done to Egypt and the Amorite kings (Joshua 9:9–10), they know that God intervenes in history to accomplish his purposes.

The Lord wants us to approach him for counsel. Joshua had a means of asking counsel from the Lord (Joshua 9:14). God is accessible and not distant. In the Bible we can know true truth about who God is and what God wants from us. Through faith in Jesus Christ we can approach God in prayer and with confidence that he wants to answer and help us.
