Bildad had ended his first speech with the possibility of recovery for Job, if he is indeed as blameless as he had claimed to be (Job 8:20–22). His second speech contains no such comfort.
Bildad is now certain that Job is an evil man
who knows not God.
Throughout this speech, Bildad has described Job’s own situation when speaking of the downfall of the wicked.
21 Surely such are the dwellings of the unrighteous, such is the place of him who knows not God.”
