Therefore, God’s people ought not to put their trust in the powerful things of this world, but in the Lord.
This verse says that he looks with pleasure upon those who fear him, and upon those who hope in his steadfast covenant love. The last two words are translated in different ways (love, grace). Because it refers here to the mutual relationship between God and his people (the relationship which we can characterize as the covenant
). Translating it as covenant love
is the preferred translation.
