2 Kings 5:1–19 (ESV)

1 Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master and in high favor, because by him the LORD had given victory to Syria. He was a mighty man of valor, but he was a leper.

This story has seven different scenes:

  • Verse 1: Introduction of Naaman

  • Verses 2–3: Naaman and the girl from Israel

  • Verses 4–6: Naaman and the letter of the king of Damascus

  • Verse 7: Naaman visits the king of Israel

  • Verses 8–12: Naaman and the prophet Elisha

  • Verses 13–14: Naaman at the river Jordan, his cleansing of leprosy

  • Verses 15–19: Naaman and the prophet Elisha revisited
