Micah is one for personal gain. Now he meets this poor, wandering Levite, and he wastes no time in making him an offer he cannot refuse. He is thinking, “If I can get this man, who is a Levite, to be my priest, I can relieve my son of his priestly duty. Then I will earn some points with the Lord.”
10 And Micah said to him, “Stay with me, and be to me a father and a priest, and I will give you ten pieces of silver a year and a suit of clothes and your living.” And the Levite went in.
