The different gospel is most likely the idea that obedience to the Mosaic laws was also necessary for salvation (Galatians 5:2–6; Galatians 6:12–13; Acts 15:1).1 This message was propagated by a group of Jewish believers that came from Judea (Acts 15:1). Having come to Galatia all the way from the mother church
in Jerusalem, one can understand why the Galatians would have been quick to welcome them and listen to what they had to say.2
