The churches in Judea glorify God for his grace and power—his grace in the sense that he has shown mercy to the chief persecutor of the church (at that time) and, through Paul’s preaching, also to the converted Gentiles.1 They glorify God for his power because he has radically changed the life of someone who was opposed to him and is now using that person (Paul) to advance the purposes of his kingdom.
