Someone who wants to be rich without Christ, who does not want to use his wealth in the service of Christ and his Kingdom, will lose everything when he loses his money and property. He also loses everything if he dies like this, because whoever is not rich in Christ will be struck by God's eternal judgment. Then it will become eternally dark in your life. A life that is not rich in Christ but seeks it in money and possessions can be a life full of annoyance, a life which even ends up in eternal death and darkness.
17 Moreover, all his days he eats in darkness in much vexation and sickness and anger.
