1. Galatians 2:9 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

What did it mean for Paul to go to the Gentiles and for the Jerusalem leaders to go to the circumcised (Jews)?

Galatians 2:9 (ESV)

9 and when James and Cephas and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given to me, they gave the right hand of fellowship to Barnabas and me, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

The division of labour which had already been recognized (Galatians 2:8) is set to continue.1 Paul would work in areas where there were predominantly Gentiles whereas Peter and the Jerusalem apostles would focus on serving the churches in Judea.
