The text of this verse is fairly straightforward. It tells us what this project was, that is, the building of Solomon’s residence. We are also told that it took thirteen years to complete. Finally, we are told that the project was completed.
Later we will observe that the project included other buildings also; for example, a house for Pharaoh’s daughter, who was the first wife of Solomon.
1 Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished his entire house.
