John uses three phrases:
1. What he saw is the word of God
; it comes from God with the same authority as any other word that has come from God through, say, Moses or the prophets of the Old Testament;
2. What he saw is the testimony of Jesus Christ
; the content of the divine revelation John saw came to him via Jesus Christ—and Jesus gave accurate testimony (the word is actually witness
) to what God gave him
(Revelation 1:1);
3. What John describes is all that he saw,
not more and not less than he was given to see, nor did John make any changes in it either.
2 who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw.
