How does John describe the revelation he saw?

Revelation 1:2 (ESV)

2 who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw.

John uses three phrases:

1. What he saw is the word of God; it comes from God with the same authority as any other word that has come from God through, say, Moses or the prophets of the Old Testament;

2. What he saw is the testimony of Jesus Christ; the content of the divine revelation John saw came to him via Jesus Christ—and Jesus gave accurate testimony (the word is actually witness) to what God gave him (Revelation 1:1);

3. What John describes is all that he saw, not more and not less than he was given to see, nor did John make any changes in it either.
