Revelation of God the Son

Galatians 2:11–16 (ESV)

11 But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned.

What does Galatians 2:11–16 reveal about what God does in my place and on my behalf (Son)?

Jesus Christ came to perfectly obey God’s law in my place and die the death that I deserve for my sin. Through faith in him, his death is considered my death (punishment for my sin) and his life of perfect righteousness is imputed to me (as if it is my life of perfect righteousness). I do not need to keep God’s law myself in order to earn his favour; I do so in response to what he has done for me. Additionally, he came to make me clean so that I can enjoy fellowship with God.
