What is Paul worried about?

Galatians 4:11 (ESV)

11 I am afraid I may have labored over you in vain.

If someone strays from the gospel of grace, they are destined for curse (Galatians 1:8–9) and will be cut off from Christ (Galatians 5:2–4). Paul is concerned for the Galatians, that they may fail to persevere in their faith (1 Corinthians 15:2; Philippians 2:16; 1 Thessalonians 3:5) and that his work among them will thus be in vain.1
