The young woman now describes what she longs for in a more literal way and not metaphorically. The imperfect verb should probably be used so that she longs to have his left hand under her head and his right hand embracing her.
This refrain matches the one in Song of Solomon 2:6 and expresses her desire for their relationship to be consummated again in the context of full public approval. It is still a wish, however, rather than something fulfilled.1
