Similar to a sermon based on 1 Samuel 23, the goal of your sermon for 1 Samuel 24 is to encourage God’s people to by guided by his Word whilst we wait for the return of Jesus Christ. In particular you will show that Biblical principles come before and stand above circumstance. Explain how David is tempted to avoid hardship by sinning against God and acting in a dishonourable way. Reflect on how our Lord Jesus Christ faced similar temptations during his time on earth. Provide clear examples of how/when we might be tempted to do the same and what it will mean for us to leave vengeance in the LORD’s hands.
