What is the punishment for a man who engages in sexual activity with an animal?

Leviticus 20:15 (ESV)

15 If a man lies with an animal, he shall surely be put to death, and you shall kill the animal.

The punishment for bestiality is the death of both the man and the animal. Rabbinic tradition says that the animal must be destroyed because the sight of the creature is a reminder of the despicable crime.
