We were introduced to the bride in Revelation 21:2 and Revelation 21:9, where she is the wife of the Lamb,
the city/people of God, the church. As the beneficiary of Christ’s coming (he is the husband,
Revelation 21:2), the bride will receive her eternal reward (Revelation 22:14). Understandably, she wants her groom to come—and echoes the Spirit’s eager call.
17 The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.
