Job 22:21 (ESV)

21 “Agree with God, and be at peace; thereby good will come to you.

Eliphaz’ selfish religion again shines through in his last words of advice to Job. Job should agree with God, because then good will come!

If Job had listened to Eliphaz at this point, by repenting and vaguely confessing his sin, he would have given victory to Satan. It would have proven that Job serves God for the sake of God’s blessings. However, Job refuses to make a (false) confession of sin, even if it means that he will never see good again.
