We need to participate fully in the life of our church. The gifts are given for the benefit of the church. Ephesians 4:12 says,
For the building up of the body of Christ.And each of you should look at your commitment to your congregation. Is it what it should be? No solitary Christian can be healthy. No one who is uninvolved can develop their gifts. That was discussed in one of the previous studies. We need other people to develop the gifts of the Spirit. For example, the gift of serving or the gift of encouraging. I am not meant to stand encouraging myself all day. I need somebody to encourage. I need somebody to serve. I need somebody to be hospitable to. I need somebody to teach. I need somebody to lead. You need people for the gifts. We need the context of others.As we become involved in the life of the church, the needs and opportunities will present themselves and we will discover our gifts. If you step aside and opt out, how are you going to discover your gifts? It will not happen.1
