Finance function of Deacon

Acts 6:1–7 (ESV)

1 Now in these days when the disciples were increasing in number, a complaint by the Hellenists arose against the Hebrews because their widows were being neglected in the daily distribution.

We come into the New Testament and we have to deduce that the deacons, because they are given care over the widows, it is obvious that if they are given care there is funding that goes with that care. The apostles wouldn't just say, You go and care for these widows, and they say, How are we going to pay for the care of the widows? and the apostles say, I don't know; you guys figure that out. There was obviously some finances that are entrusted to the deacons for the work of the church.1
