What is important about the casualty count?

Judges 20:35 (ESV)

35 And the LORD defeated Benjamin before Israel, and the people of Israel destroyed 25,100 men of Benjamin that day. All these were men who drew the sword.

The people of Israel, under the leadership of the Lord, destroyed 25,100 men of Benjamin that day. This huge casualty count is significant, not for the number itself, but in that it represents 94 percent of Benjamin's fighting force of only 26,700 (Judges 20:15)!1
