1. Judges 20:46 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

Why does the total number here not tally with that of Judges 20:35?

Judges 20:46 (ESV)

46 So all who fell that day of Benjamin were 25,000 men who drew the sword, all of them men of valor.

The number 25,000 here does not tally exactly with the death count noted in Judges 20:35, namely, 25,100. But this discrepancy can likely be attributed to the imprecision of such terms as destroyed (Judges 20:35), fell (here).
