Everywhere Job looks, he sees wicked men exploiting poor, helpless people. Yet God allows this to continue indefinitely. God does not set times for judgment (Job 24:1).
Job voices the doubts and distresses that many of God’s children experience, even today. However, as we call on God to act against the injustice in this world (Psalm 58:1–11), we should also know that he is a stronghold for the oppressed
who has not forsaken those who seek
him (Psalm 9:9–10). Job seems to have forgotten this.
12 From out of the city the dying groan, and the soul of the wounded cries for help; yet God charges no one with wrong.
