What does the “behold” signal?

Judges 21:19 (ESV)

19 So they said, “Behold, there is the yearly feast of the LORD at Shiloh, which is north of Bethel, on the east of the highway that goes up from Bethel to Shechem, and south of Lebonah.”

The elders have been looking for a way to match the two hundred remaining Benjamites with wives. And so as though they were thinking out loud, the elders suddenly recall the annual festival of the Lord at Shiloh, as a place where two hundred eligible young virgins are likely to be. And so their behold signals a sudden breakthrough in their thinking. Indeed, it highlights their shrewdness in conceiving what amounts to a sinister plan.1
