1. Acts 9:35 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

Did everyone in Lydda and the region of Sharon truly become believers?

Acts 9:35 (ESV)

35 And all the residents of Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.

Luke, the author of Acts, makes use of hyperbolic language. He does not mean that every single person living in the area became a believer but that a large number of people were converted.1 Lydda would continue to have a very strong Christian presence for many years thereafter.2
