Job now directs his complaints directly to God. Despite all his prayers and calls for justice, God has remained silent up to now. God’s silence is a source of great agony to Job. His complaints against God will become unjustifiably bitter, and yet it is important to note that he is still turning to God for help! To the very end, he will not curse and turn away from God, as Satan had said he would.
20 I cry to you for help and you do not answer me; I stand, and you only look at me.
