What Job needed was not to see the solutions to his problems and questions, but to see God!
Job’s words do not imply that he has really seen
God; after all, God spoke to him from a storm (Job 38:1; Job 40:6). Rather, Job has gained a deeper knowledge of God’s power, wisdom, and goodness. God has revealed himself more deeply to Job by pointing Job to the wonders of creation. Of Moses it is also said that he saw God face to face.
This is because God spoke to him clearly and not in riddles
(Numbers 12:8; Numbers 14:14).
