Having reminded the eastern tribes of their responsibilities toward the tribes west of the Jordan, Moses then turned to Joshua. He told him, as the one appointed to lead Israel into the Promised Land, that the victories over Sihon and Og were evidence for Joshua that the Lord will likewise accomplish victory for him over the kingdoms in Canaan.
21 And I commanded Joshua at that time, ‘Your eyes have seen all that the LORD your God has done to these two kings. So will the LORD do to all the kingdoms into which you are crossing.
