The term used describes a change of heart away from sin and disobedience to Christ and hence obedience. The teachings of Balaam and the Nicolaitans, together with their resulting forms of conduct, were evil in the sight of the Lord. The Christians of Pergamum were to renounce those teachings with their consequences.
16 Therefore repent. If not, I will come to you soon and war against them with the sword of my mouth.
