The Lord tells the congregation that he “gave her time to repent.” As a member of the church she received “the apostles’ teaching” (Acts 2:42) week after week, and so had opportunity over the months to be busy with the Word of God as revealed in the Old Testament and circulated through the letters of the apostles and the gospel of the evangelists. This would have given her time and motivation to correct her teaching and repent of her errors.
