Why does Paul decide to write about what has happened to him?

Philippians 1:12 (ESV)

Along with the gifts that the apostle received from the congregation, reports have also come to his ears that the church at Philippi is deeply concerned about his imprisonment, and probably in particular about the associated court case. This is the reason Paul writes about his case (ta kat’ eme: “what has happened to me”).1
