One of the many fruits of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit was that the church members opened their wallets for each other. The believers sold their possessions to share with those among them who were in need (Acts 2:45). They did not consider their things their own (Acts 4:32).
From this proverb, we learn to expect that God will bring blessing to those who have this attitude. This is also what we see in the early church. God’s grace was on all of them. No one needed anything (Acts 4:33–34). They also had blessings more precious than money: they had unity among them, they had joy, and their numbers grew (Acts 2:46–47). Anyone who belongs to a church will know how important these blessings are—how we can be “enriched” by them!
25 Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.
