When the apostle speaks of his chains having become known to the entire praetorium, we can hardly imagine that the apostle’s chains had become known to a building. He is referring to people here. In all likelihood these people were the dignitaries who heard his preaching and the court officials and/or the soldiers who had to guard the prisoners.1
