Esther 8:7 (ESV)

7 Then King Ahasuerus said to Queen Esther and to Mordecai the Jew, “Behold, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and they have hanged him on the gallows, because he intended to lay hands on the Jews.

The king’s reply was again favourable. He reminded Esther and Mordecai (who, as viceroy, would have been present at this interview) of his own favour toward the Jews. Not only had he given Haman the death sentence, he had also given Haman’s estate to Esther. (This was indeed remarkable, as the property of a condemned criminal would normally go straight to the royal treasury.)
