Why is the mention of Kiriath-arba significant?

Judges 1:10 (ESV)

10 And Judah went against the Canaanites who lived in Hebron (now the name of Hebron was formerly Kiriath-arba), and they defeated Sheshai and Ahiman and Talmai.

This is what Hebron was once named, after Arba, the greatest man among the Anakites (Joshua 14:15; Joshua 15:13). This reminder points up the fact that the Lord had displaced the Canaanites and given the land to faithful men like Caleb.1 Whatever the tribe of Judah may have claimed in the overthrow of Hebron, Caleb was the one who effectively cleaned it all out.
