What is noteworthy about the way the LORD speaks?

Judges 2:20 (ESV)

20 So the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he said, “Because this people have transgressed my covenant that I commanded their fathers and have not obeyed my voice,

He no longer speaks to the Israelites, as he did in Judges 2:1–3, but now speaks about them. The Lord has distanced himself from his people, and adopted the measured tone appropriate to the handing down of a considered judgment.1
