The book of Ezra can be divided into two halves according to the two missions that God’s people receive in the book:
The return and reestablishment of Jews to Judah in order to build the house of worship (Ezra 1:1 – 6:22);
Ezra’s task to appoint magistrates and judges to administer justice and to teach the law of God and the law of the king (Ezra 7:1 – 10:44)
