Although the text seems to suggest that only the priests presented a ram for a guilt offering, we can assume that this was the response of all the men identified in the lists. According to Leviticus 5:14–19 a ram was the guilt offering required for a sin committed unwittingly. The guilt offering was a means by which atonement was made for sin.
