Ezra 5—6 and the Trinity

Ezra 5:1–6:22 (ESV)

1 Now the prophets, Haggai and Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophesied to the Jews who were in Judah and Jerusalem, in the name of the God of Israel who was over them.

What does Ezra 5—6 reveal about who God the Father is?

The clearest revelation in Ezra 5—6 about God is that the Lord is God of heaven and earth who is watching over his people. God the Father is thus shown to be God who watches over his people. He is involved in this world, working all things for the good of his people. He is not limited to a particular place or locality; he works in the whole world. He even influences pagan kings in order to achieve his purposes (Ezra 6:22).
