John understood that God’s action in searching for someone worthy to open the scroll was highly important. With no one worthy to open the scroll, it would appear that God’s intended actions for earth were frustrated. That in turn could only mean that the well being (or even survival) of the churches (Revelation 2:1 – 3:22) was jeopardized. That explains why John wept loudly and extensively.
