Wicked people reject God’s Word, thereby undermining the foundations of society. It is no wonder then that people hide themselves when wicked people rise to power. In some situations, hiding is the only thing that a believer can do, while he prays with David: “Help, Lord, for no one is faithful anymore; those who are loyal have vanished from the human race” (Psalm 12:1).
