Amos 7:1–17 contains three visions (Amos 7:1–9) followed by a discussion between Amos and Amaziah (Amos 7:10–17). The visions are autobiographical in nature and each vision is introduced by a formula in which God shows Amos something that will take place, which is then followed by a dialogue between the Lord and Amos.1
1 This is what the Lord GOD showed me: behold, he was forming locusts when the latter growth was just beginning to sprout, and behold, it was the latter growth after the king’s mowings.
