How does the fact that Jesus is taken away from his disciples fit in with the wedding metaphor?

Mark 2:20 (ESV)

20 The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day.

The bridegroom is taken away at a good moment from the circle of his friends. For the image is about the marriage that follows: the bridegroom enters the bridal chamber (cf. Tobias 6:14) and the friends remain behind.1
