Where was the town Tekoa situated?

Amos 1:1 (ESV)

1 The words of Amos, who was among the shepherds of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

Amos came from a town in Judah called Tekoa. Tekoa was in the hill country of Judah, about five miles south of Bethlehem (ten miles south of Jerusalem). Tekoa is mentioned on several occasions in the Old Testament (2 Samuel 14:2, 2 Samuel 14:4, 2 Samuel 14:9; 2 Chronicles 11:6; 2 Chronicles 20:20; Jeremiah 6:1).
