Revelation 11:15–19 (ESV)

15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.”

When the seventh angel sounds his trumpet, the Lord shows John particular events in heaven and on earth that have a direct bearing on the kingship Jesus Christ had received (Revelation 5:1–14). The hosts of heaven delight in that kingship (Revelation 11:15–19), but on earth diabolic forces seek to dethrone the king (Revelation 12:1 – 13:18) without success (Revelation 14:1–20). The blowing of the seventh trumpet initiates the vision of the cosmic battle for the throne of heaven and earth.
