What is significant about the reference to "days"?

Revelation 12:6 (ESV)

6 and the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, in which she is to be nourished for 1,260 days.

The reference to “days” (instead of “months” or “years”) is telling. A passenger in a low-flying airplane can see much more detail on the ground than a passenger flying at 30,000 feet. The reference to “days” compares to the implications of flying low versus the implications of flying high (years). The reference to “days” implies that the Lord will provide the woman’s detailed needs on a daily basis (see also Matthew 6:11).
