What is the significance of the bow?

Revelation 6:2 (ESV)

2 And I looked, and behold, a white horse! And its rider had a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he came out conquering, and to conquer.

A bow is a military instrument, used to fire arrows at the enemy. A bow implies arrows and so we may connect this rider’s intent with passages such as Deuteronomy 32:23, Psalm 7:12–13, Lamentations 2:4, Habakkuk 3:9. This rider is going to war.
