On the third day of creation the Lord had prompted the waters covering the earth to be gathered together into one place (the sea) so that dry land might appear (Genesis 1:9–10). With the opening of the sixth seal and God coming in judgment, every bump on earth’s surface (mountain and island) was dislocated (talk about an earthquake!) so that the earth was levelled and so subject to flooding.
14 The sky vanished like a scroll that is being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.
